The PGT English Teacher will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to senior secondary students, delivering engaging lessons, and ensuring academic excellence. The role includes curriculum planning, classroom instruction, assessment, and supporting studentsâ overall development.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons for classes XIâXII as per the prescribed curriculum (CBSE/State Board).
- Teach English Core / English Elective as applicable.
- Use innovative pedagogical methods to enhance comprehension, communication skills, and literary appreciation.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assignments.
Assessment & Evaluation
- Conduct formative and summative assessments as per school guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and prepare report cards.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and active participation.
Curriculum & Academic Support
- Contribute to curriculum development and question paper setting.
- Mentor students for board examinations, debates, writing competitions, and other literary activities.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and school events.
- Participate in professional development programs
Requirements
- Masterâs degree (MA) in English.
- B.Ed.
or equivalent teaching qualification (mandatory).
- Minimum 2â5 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level (preferred).
