Role & responsibilities

- Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of Red Hat OpenShift platform across on-prem and/or cloud environments.

- Define and implement the migration strategy from VMware-based infrastructure to OpenShift container platform.

- Architect and oversee infrastructure components including compute, storage, virtualization, and OS layers.

- Design and implement networking architecture including SDN, ingress/egress, load balancing, DNS, and service mesh.

- Define and enforce platform security architecture including RBAC, IAM, network policies, secrets management, image security, and compliance controls.

- Establish platform standards, governance, and best practices for containerization and Kubernetes workloads.

- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure seamless adoption.

- Act as the primary technical authority and escalation point for OpenShift-related initiatives.

- Provide advisory support to senior leadership and stakeholders on platform roadmap, scalability, resilience, and cost optimization.

- Lead capacity planning, high availability, disaster recovery,



and performance optimization strategies.

- Support automation initiatives using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.

Required Skills & Experience

- 15+ years of IT experience with 8+ years in OpenShift/Kubernetes architecture.

- Strong hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x preferred).

- Proven experience leading VMware to OpenShift or virtualization-to-container migrations.

- Deep knowledge of:

- Kubernetes architecture and container orchestration

- Infrastructure design (compute, storage, networking)

- Enterprise networking (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancers, firewalls)

- Platform security and compliance frameworks

- Experience with VMware vSphere and virtualization platforms.

- Solid understanding of hybrid cloud architectures (AWS/Azure/GCP preferred).

- Expertise in automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar.

- Experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, GitOps practices.

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
