Sample Role Overview

- We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Utility Scale Solar Design Engineer to support the design and engineering of large-scale Solar PV, BESS projects for the US market.
- The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in utility-scale solar plant design, energy yield analysis, system optimization, and detailed engineering.
- This role requires a strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical design principles, and industry standards, with the ability to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from project development through construction and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and optimize utility-scale Solar PV projects from concept through detailed engineering.
- Develop site layouts, module configurations, stringing plans, inverter sizing, and DC/AC system designs.
- Perform energy yield assessments and production simulations using PVsyst.
- Conduct shading analysis, terrain assessments, and performance optimization studies.
- Prepare electrical design packages, single-line diagrams (SLDs), equipment layouts, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Structural,



and Interconnection teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Support project feasibility studies, technical due diligence, and value engineering initiatives.
- Review vendor proposals, equipment specifications, and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with US utility requirements, IEEE, NEC, IEC, and industry standards.
- Support EPC teams during construction, commissioning, testing, and project handover activities.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients, consultants, and utility stakeholders.
- Identify design improvements to optimize project performance, reliability, and cost.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Power, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering discipline.
- 8-15 years of experience in utility-scale Solar PV design and engineering.
- Experience working on US solar projects is preferred.
- Solid understanding of Solar PV system design, grid interconnection, and renewable energy technologies.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
