Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Take daily operational ownership of the enterprise monitoring and observability toolset end-to-end.
- Perform agent installation, uninstallation, and upgradation across physical, virtual, and cloud environments.
- Validate data collection accuracy and completeness for all integrated infrastructure components.
- Configure and maintain alert policy setups, including specific conditions, dynamic thresholds, and muting rules.
- Establish and maintain integrations between monitoring platforms and the ITSM platform (ServiceNow) using Webhooks and APIs.
- Ensure platform adherence to compliance, policy, risk, and operational governance standards.
- Own reporting automation, custom dashboards (e.g., Grafana), inventory updates, and audit readiness for the tools tower.
- Maintain documentation, runbooks, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and assist in audits.

Technical Skills

Observability & Event Management

- Administer, configure, and manage enterprise observability platforms, primarily Datadog and Splunk.
- Support and maintain legacy "AS-IS" monitoring solutions (e.g., SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Zabbix) during transition and steady-state.
- Create, manage, and optimize unified dashboards and report metrics using Grafana.
- Configure Major Incident Management (MIM) alert routing and notifications via PagerDuty.

Enterprise Discovery & CMDB

- Administer and manage the Device42 platform for automated infrastructure discovery and application dependency mapping.




- Ensure continuous and accurate data synchronization between Device42 and the ServiceNow CMDB.

AIOps & Backend Automation

- Support the operational execution of the ignio AIOps platform for intelligent event management, alert noise suppression, and correlation.
- Collaborate with automation teams to support backend orchestration tools like Ansible and ignio for routine task automation.

Tool Configuration & Upgrades

- Manage regular patching, version upgrades, and health checks for monitoring and observability infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot tool-related incidents, broken integrations, and agent connectivity failures.

Secondary Skills:

- ITIL Processes: Robust working knowledge of ITIL frameworks, specifically Incident, Problem, and Change Management workflows.
- Automation & Scripting: Experience using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and configuring REST APIs/Webhooks for tool integrations.
- Security & Compliance: Knowledge of security controls for data protection and secure credential management within monitoring systems.
