Role SummaryThe VP – Capital Markets Product Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, product P&L;, balance sheet accuracy, and the control environment across Capital Markets products, including derivatives, structured products, FX, equities, and fixed income. The role provides end-to-end ownership of product accounting, fair value accounting, revenue recognition, financial controls, and governance while partnering with Business Finance, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Product teams to support business growth and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Control & Product ControllershipOwn end-to-end controllership for Capital Markets products across derivatives, structured products, FX, equities, and fixed income.Ensure accurate product accounting, P&L; reporting, fair value accounting, revenue recognition, and balance sheet integrity.Review complex accounting treatments, valuation adjustments, reserves, and reporting impacts.Support month-end and quarter-end close, financial reporting, and external reporting requirements.Governance & Risk ManagementMaintain a robust financial control framework, ensuring compliance with IFRS, internal accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.Identify, assess, and escalate accounting, operational, market, and reporting risks.Support audit, regulatory reviews, CFO attestations, and control remediation initiatives.Review and approve financial control design for new products, system implementations, and process changes.Business PartnershipPartner with Business Finance, Product, Markets, Risk, Operations, Technology, and Change teams to provide independent financial oversight.Analyze key P&L; drivers, fair value movements,



and balance sheet trends, providing meaningful commercial insights.Challenge product performance, pricing decisions, booking models, and new product proposals from a financial control perspective.Balance strong governance with practical business solutions.Process ExcellenceOversee front-to-back accounting processes from trade capture through sub-ledgers, general ledger, financial reporting, and disclosures.Ensure timely completion of reconciliations, substantiation, manual journals, exception management, and supporting documentation.Drive process standardization, automation, and continuous improvement across controllership activities.Support finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements.QualificationsCA, CPA, ACCA, CFA, CWA, or equivalent professional qualification.12–15 years of experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Controllership, Finance Reporting, Audit, or Risk within investment banking or capital markets.Strong expertise in derivatives, structured products, FX, fixed income, and equities.Deep knowledge of IFRS, fair value accounting, P&L; reporting, product accounting, and balance sheet substantiation.Experience with financial systems such as SAP, product sub-ledgers, trade capture platforms, and reporting tools is preferred.Experience supporting current product approvals, finance transformation, audit remediation, and regulatory reporting is advantageous.Key SkillsCapital Markets Product AccountingFair Value Accounting & P&L; ReportingFinancial Control & Balance Sheet SubstantiationIFRS & Technical AccountingRisk Management & GovernanceStakeholder Management & Business PartneringProcess Improvement & Finance TransformationAudit & Regulatory Compliance
