Job Description: An Instrument Engineer for Combustion Control Systems (CCS) in a steel manufacturing plant designs, installs, and maintains automation systems. They ensure critical processes (like blast furnaces and reheating furnaces) are precise, safe, and energy-effective by regulating temperature, pressure, gas flow, and combustion ratios. - System Design & Integration: Design PLC, SCADA, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to optimize furnace combustion and reduce fuel consumption. [1, 2, 3]
- Process Instrumentation: Calibrate and maintain specialized sensors including gas analyzers, thermocouples, pressure transmitters, and flow meters. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Safety & Compliance: Program and test burner management systems to prevent explosions, ensuring compliance with strict environmental and safety regulations. [1, 2]
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance:



Diagnose and repair control loop failures and equipment malfunctions to prevent production downtime. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and production teams to upgrade or commission new mill equipment. [1, 2]

Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: 3 to 10 years in process control, specifically handling combustion systems in heavy industries.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with DCS/PLC programming, P&ID; reading, and HMI configuration.
