1) Job Purpose:

To lead end-to-end site construction and execution activities for large-scale Solar PV projects (100+ MW portfolio) by driving safe, timely, and cost-effective project delivery while managing all site functions, EPC contractors, vendors, and cross-functional execution teams.

2) Job Context & Major Challenges:

Operating from remote solar project sites, the role is responsible for overall construction leadership and execution management across multiple work fronts including civil, structural, electrical, module installation, inverter stations, pooling substations, transmission systems, testing, commissioning coordination, logistics, EHS, and stakeholder management.

Key challenges include managing large-scale execution under aggressive timelines, coordinating multiple EPC contractors and vendors, ensuring timely availability of materials and resources, driving workforce productivity, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, resolving site-level execution bottlenecks, and ensuring seamless coordination across all site functions to achieve project commissioning milestones.

The role requires a robust site execution leader currently handling complete site responsibility for large-scale Solar PV projects. Profiles limited to Civil Lead, Electrical Lead, or Project Planning/Project Management roles without overall site leadership experience will not fit the requirement.

3) Principal Accountabilities & Supporting Actions:

Overall Site Construction Leadership

Lead end-to-end construction activities for 100+ MW Solar PV projects from site mobilization to commissioning readiness.

Execution Management

Drive execution across civil works, module mounting structures, module installation, inverter stations, pooling substations, transmission systems, and associated electrical infrastructure.

Site Coordination & Team Leadership

Lead and manage site teams including construction, EHS, QA/QC, planning, logistics, and contractor workforce.

Contractor & Vendor Management

Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely execution and issue resolution.

Project Schedule & Milestone Management

Monitor project progress, track milestones, identify risks, and implement recovery plans to meet project timelines.

EHS & Quality Compliance

Ensure adherence to EHS standards, permit systems, quality requirements, and zero-harm culture across all construction activities.

Logistics & Resource Planning

Manage site logistics, material availability, manpower deployment, heavy equipment, and construction resources for uninterrupted execution.

Stakeholder & Local Coordination

Liaise with local authorities, landowners, utilities, and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.

Cost & Productivity Monitoring

Monitor site productivity, optimize resource utilization, and control construction costs within approved budgets.

Commissioning Readiness & Handover

Ensure punch-point closure, testing readiness, statutory compliance, and seamless handover to commissioning and O&M; teams.

4) Job Purpose of Direct Reports:

Direct reports support discipline-wise execution, safety compliance, quality assurance, planning, logistics, and contractor coordination to ensure timely and efficient project delivery.

- Civil Construction Leads: Manage grading, foundations, roads, drainage, and infrastructure works.
- Electrical Construction Leads: Drive DC and AC electrical execution, inverter stations, pooling substations, and transmission systems.
- Mechanical / Structural Leads: Manage module mounting structures, tracker installation, and module erection activities.
- EHS Team: Ensure implementation of site safety systems and statutory compliance.
