Job Description

As Senior Vice President, Data Platform Lead, you will be a key leader responsible for the architecture, engineering and operational leadership of the enterprise data platform. This role combines strategic architectural accountability with direct ownership of platform delivery and reliability. You will operate as a hands-on senior leader focused on platform outcomes, engineering excellence, and operational rigor. Partnering closely with technology leadership, product organizations, enterprise architecture and business stakeholders, you will ensure that data platforms are scalable, secure, reliable, and aligned to enterprise analytics, AI/ML, reporting and operational use cases. You will drive consistent engineering practices, disciplined delivery and continuous improvement across the data platform ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities





- Define and maintain the target-state architecture and multi-year roadmap for enterprise data platforms, translating business, analytics and AI/ML needs into scalable, supportable and cost-aware solutions.

- Lead and manage the data platform engineering organization

- Establish and enforce architectural principles, standards and reference designs, serving as the senior authority for data platform design decisions and solution reviews.

- Set engineering priorities, roadmaps, operating models and support structures aligned to architectural direction and enterprise demand.

- Guide platform technology strategy across data ingestion, storage and processing, metadata and observability and AI/ML enablement, including technology and vendor selection.

- Ensure operational excellence by meeting enterprise standards for availability, resiliency, security, compliance and risk management, and by owning platform metrics and incident processes.

- Build, develop and retain a high-performing data platform engineering and architecture organization, setting expectations for quality, rigor, mentorship and continuous improvement.

- Drive transparency into platform costs, usage, and efficiency.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of experience in data, platform, or engineering roles, including leadership of enterprise-scale engineering organizations.

- Proven track record owning both architecture and delivery for complex, enterprise data platforms.

- Experience operating and scaling platforms that support analytics, AI/ML and data products in production environments.

- Deep expertise in modern data platform architectures across cloud and multi-cloud environments.

- Demonstrated ability to balance architectural integrity with delivery timelines, operational demands and production accountability.

- Strong communication and influencing skills, with success driving alignment across matrixed organizations without direct executive authority.

- Experience in large, complex, or regulated enterprises

- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred
