Skill: Database Developer & Administrator (PostgreSQL)
Location: Pune Hybrid

Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Database Developer & Administrator (PostgreSQL) to design, develop, administer, and optimize enterprise PostgreSQL databases supporting business critical applications. The ideal candidate should have hands on experience in SQL development, database administration, performance tuning, high availability, backup & recovery, and automation. You will collaborate with application, DevOps, and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high performing database solutions.

Key Skills required:
Database Development
. Design and develop PostgreSQL database objects including tables, views, indexes, functions, triggers, and stored procedures.
. Develop and optimize complex SQL queries for high performance applications.
. Support data modeling, schema design, and database migration activities.

Database Administration
. Install, configure, upgrade, and administer PostgreSQL databases.
. Manage backup, recovery (PITR), replication, and disaster recovery.
. Monitor database health, availability, and capacity.

Performance & Monitoring
. Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and PostgreSQL configurations.
. Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, replication, and database issues.
. Perform database health checks, root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures.

Security & Automation
. Manage users, roles, permissions, and database security.
. Automate routine database tasks using Python or Shell scripting.
. Support CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.

Required Skills
. Robust experience with PostgreSQL Administration and Development
. Advanced SQL and PL/pgSQL
. Database Performance Tuning & Query Optimization
. Backup & Recovery (pg_dump, pg_restore, PITR)
. Replication, High Availability, and Disaster Recovery
. Indexing, Partitioning,



and Execution Plan Analysis
. Database Monitoring (Grafana, Prometheus, pgAdmin)
. Git and Linux administration
. Python or Shell scripting
. Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
. Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure Database for PostgreSQL,) is preferred.
