Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role based at the Tanishq Jewellery showroom in Roorkee. The Cashier is responsible for handling customer billing, processing payments, and issuing receipts accurately and efficiently. Day-to-day tasks include operating the point-of-sale system, verifying product details and prices, maintaining cash registers, and reconciling daily transactions. The role also involves assisting customers with basic queries, coordinating with sales staff to ensure smooth checkout, and following company policies for returns, exchanges, and discounts. The Cashier is expected to maintain proper records,



safeguard cash and financial instruments, and support the store team in delivering a qualified and courteous customer experience.

Qualifications

Sound numerical skills and accuracy in handling cash, cards, and digital payments.

Experience using point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications (e.g., billing software, MS Office).

Strong customer service and communication skills, with a polite and qualified demeanor.

Ability to follow store procedures, maintain transaction records, and support audit and compliance requirements.

Attention to detail, reliability, and integrity in managing financial transactions and confidential information.

Prior retail or cashier experience is preferred, ideally in jewelry, fashion, or similar customer-facing environments.

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; additional training in accounting, commerce, or retail operations is an advantage.

Willingness to work on-site in Roorkee, including weekends and peak festive seasons as required.

Preferred candidate profile
