Role & responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance: Enforce state/national factory safety laws, maintain statutory safety registers, and handle audits with government authorities.
Hazard & Risk Management: Conduct Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and implement preventive measures (e.g., Machine Guarding, LOTO, Chemical Handling).
Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause analysis for workplace accidents, near-misses, or dangerous occurrences, and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
Safety Audits & Drills: Organize routine plant safety inspections, fire drills, emergency response plans, and maintain disaster management preparedness.
Training & Culture: Conduct safety induction, daily toolbox talks, and continuous training programs for plant staff, supervisors, and third-party contractors.
Preferred candidate profile
ITI/Diploma in Mechanical or relevant technical trade.
Experience in roll assembly or rolling mill operations in the steel industry.
Willing to relocate to Uganda and work in rotational/night shifts.
