Job Description:
Program creation:
Use CAD software to create or import 3D models and then use CAM software to generate CNC programs.
Process optimization:
Determine the most productive methods for manufacturing parts, including selecting the right cutting tools, speeds, and feeds.
Toolpath generation:
Define and optimize tool paths for various operations, such as milling and turning, to ensure precision and efficiency.
Simulation and verification:
Use software to simulate the machining process to detect errors, collisions, or inefficiencies before production begins.
Troubleshooting:
Provide support to the shop floor by troubleshooting issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of programming and machining processes, including setup sheets, tooling information, and work instructions.
Collaboration:
Work with engineers and designers to improve manufacturing processes and resolve problems.
