Role & responsibilities
GST Compliance & Return Filing
Preparation and review of monthly GST workings for clients.
Filing of GST returns including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and Annual Return (GSTR-9).
Ensuring completeness and correctness of data used for GST filings.
Monitoring compliance timelines and maintaining compliance trackers.
Reconciliations & Data Analysis
Performing ITC reconciliation with GSTR-2A / GSTR-2B.
Conducting sales and purchase reconciliations across books and GST returns.
Identifying discrepancies and suggesting corrective actions.
Handling Large Data Sets
Managing and analysing large volumes of transactional data from ERP systems.
Designing Excel-based reconciliation models for GST compliance.
Building automation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Data Analytics & Automation
Advanced usage of:
MS Excel (Advanced functions, Pivot Tables, Power Query)
Power BI dashboards for GST analytics
VBA automation for repetitive compliance tasks
Developing data visualization reports for compliance monitoring.
Exposure to Python-based data processing (optional but preferred).
GST Litigation & Advisory Support
Preparation of responses to GST notices and departmental communications.
Assistance in refund claims and representations before GST authorities.




Supporting GST assessments and appellate proceedings.
GST Audit & Advisory
Assisting in GST audits and compliance reviews.
Conducting health checks and internal GST reconciliations.
Supporting training sessions and internal knowledge initiatives on GST.

Technical Skills Required

Indirect Tax
Solid working knowledge of GST law and compliance procedures
Experience in GST return filing and reconciliations
Understanding of GST notices, refunds, and litigation support

Data & Technology Skills
Advanced MS Excel (Mandatory)
Pivot Tables
Complex formulas
Data modeling
Power Query and Power BI (Preferred)
VBA for automation (Preferred)
Ability to handle large datasets and build reconciliation models
Python knowledge (Added Advantage)
Data cleaning
Automation scripts

Preferred candidate profile
2 to 5 years of experience in a CA firm or consulting firm handling GST matters
