Oversee end-to-end execution of welding activities to achieve quality targets, improve welding quality, and reduce costs.
Review and approve process sheets prepared by the team based on production planning schedules.
Develop welding plans for critical Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in line with project specifications.
Coordinate with Production Planning, Purchase, and Stores teams to ensure availability of welding tools, materials, and equipment.
Monitor and control departmental budget utilization, ensuring cost efficiency and minimal variance.
Welding Operations
Prepare Welding Technology Sheets/Weld Maps for critical jobs and guide the team in monitoring shop-floor welding activities for quality compliance.
Provide technical expertise on welding and metallurgy for repairs, modifications, life extension, and integrity management of critical components.
Support implementation and optimization of robotic/cobot welding technologies.
Establish guidelines for welding, fabrication, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) in accordance with applicable codes and standards (ASME, EN, AS, etc.).
Review project specifications covering welding processes,



base materials, consumables, heat treatment, and NDT requirements.
Select suitable Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and develop/qualify current WPS and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
Maintain and review WPS/PQR documentation, qualification records, and test reports.
Lead development, testing, qualification, and implementation of recent welding technologies and equipment while ensuring cost effectiveness.
Raise Purchase Requisitions (PR) in SAP for welding consumables, spares, and equipment, providing technical specifications as required.
Review engineering drawings to ensure availability of applicable WPS and correct welding process selection for production.
Maintain welding documentation and records as per quality and project requirements.
Share relevant welding documents and technical records with customers whenever required to support quality assurance and compliance.
