Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all applicable safety laws and regulations (Factories Act, OSHA standards, etc.).
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the plant.
Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Develop and enforce safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Conduct safety induction and regular training sessions for employees and contract workers.
Monitor the usage of PPE and ensure adherence to safety norms.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare reports and implement corrective actions.
Maintain safety records, documentation, and statutory registers.
Coordinate with different departments to ensure safe work practices.
Drive safety initiatives like 5S,
toolbox talks, mock drills, and awareness programs.
Ensure fire safety systems, emergency preparedness, and evacuation procedures are in place.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Robust knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations.
Positive understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment (HIRA).
Familiarity with safety audits and incident investigation.
Positive communication and training skills.
Attention to detail and proactive approach.
Ability to handle shop floor safety operations.
