Software Engineering Intern (AI-Native) Duration: [8–12 weeks, extendable based on performance] Joining: Immediate / As per campus schedule About the Role As a Software Engineering Intern, you will build real features for our HR technology product. In 2026, the language you know matters less than your judgment, taste, and ability to ship — a good engineer can pick up any stack on the fly using AI coding tools like Claude Code. This role is hands-on and end-to-end: you take a requirement, design an approach, build it, test it, and get it into production alongside our engineers.
This internship is ideal for candidates who build things because they can't help it, are comfortable working across languages/frameworks with AI-assisted coding, and have real work to show — not just coursework.
Key Responsibilities Ship real features in whatever language or stack the team is using — ramp up fast using AI coding tools rather than relying on prior fluency in that language.
Own small end-to-end problems: scope the requirement, design the approach, build, test, and ship.
Debug and explain your own code clearly — you should be able to say why it works, not just that an AI wrote it.
Work directly with engineers and PMs on live product work — no shadow projects or busywork.
Pick up unfamiliar codebases and conventions quickly, with AI tools as a co-pilot rather than a crutch.
Document your work: PR descriptions, short technical notes, and clear handoffs.
Flag blockers and risks early, and follow through until the feature actually ships.
Competencies We Value (More than "skills") Language Agnosticism:
comfortable picking up a recent language or framework mid-project using AI coding tools.
Builder's Instinct: a track record of shipping things unprompted — side projects, hackathons, open source, anything real.
Problem Solving: breaks down ambiguous problems, makes sound technical judgment calls, and drives them to resolution.
Ownership: reliable follow-through from requirement to production; nothing falls through the cracks.
Coachability: absorbs code review feedback and improves quickly.
Learning Agility: quick to grasp new tools, codebases, and product context. Eligibility / Preferred Background No specific degree, year, or language requirement — college dropouts, self-taught builders, and non-CS majors are all welcome to apply.
Demonstrated hands-on coding experience: a GitHub with real repos, a side project people actually use, a hackathon win, or an open-source contribution.
Working fluency with AI coding tools (Claude Code or similar) — you'll be asked to build something in an unfamiliar language, live, using these tools.
Prior internships, freelance projects, or competitive coding experience are a plus but not required. What You'll Learn How to move fast across languages and frameworks using AI-assisted coding.
How to take a feature from requirement to production in a real B2B SaaS codebase.
How to work with engineers and PMs on live, shipping product work.
- Practical judgment on when to trust AI-generated code, when to dig in, and how to debug either way. We are an equal opportunity employer and encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply.
