One Step Greener is a technology-driven waste management and recycling company focused on developing efficient, transparent, and sustainable waste collection and processing systems.
We use software, IoT, artificial intelligence, computer vision, automation, and data-driven technologies to improve waste collection, vehicle operations, warehouse management, material tracking, and recycling processes. As part of our technology expansion, we are developing robotics and warehouse automation solutions, including Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), intelligent material movement systems, automated workflows, and sensor-based operational monitoring.
As a Robotics Software Engineer, you will contribute to developing the intelligence and autonomy of our robotic systems using ROS2. You will work on perception, localization, mapping, navigation, sensor integration, and autonomous operation in dynamic warehouse and waste-processing environments.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop robotic applications using ROS2.
- Integrate LiDAR, IMU, cameras, wheel encoders, and other sensors.
- Develop ROS2 nodes, packages, launch files, services, actions, and communication interfaces.
- Work on localization, mapping, navigation, path planning, and obstacle avoidance.
- Integrate embedded firmware and hardware interfaces with higher-level robotic software.
- Test robotic applications using simulation environments and real robotic hardware.
- Debug and troubleshoot robotic systems running on Linux.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, electronics, and software engineering teams.
- Participate in the testing, validation, deployment,
and improvement of robotic systems.
- Maintain technical documentation and version control using Git.
Required Skills
- Good programming skills in C++ and Python.
- Basic understanding of ROS or ROS2.
- Strong Linux fundamentals.
- Understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.
- Knowledge of robotics fundamentals, including coordinate frames, transformations, odometry, sensors, and robot motion.
- Basic understanding of distributed systems and inter-process communication.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or another robotics simulation environment.
- Knowledge of Navigation2 (Nav2).
- Understanding of SLAM, localization, and path-planning concepts.
- Familiarity with OpenCV.
- Experience integrating LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, encoders, or other robotic sensors.
- Exposure to Docker and containerized development environments.
- Familiarity with robot perception, sensor fusion, or autonomous navigation.
- Experience with real robotic hardware or automation projects is an advantage.
Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Robotics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
