Role Description The Robotics Programmer will be responsible for developing, configuring, and optimizing robot programs for industrial automation systems in an on-site, full-time role based in Manesar. Day-to-day activities include programming and troubleshooting robots for applications such as welding, machine tending, and material handling, and validating robot paths and cycle times using off-line simulation tools.
The role involves collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to integrate robots with production equipment, optimize cell layouts, and ensure safety compliance.
The Robotics
Programmer will test and commission robotic systems on the shop floor, document programming standards, and provide training and support to operations and maintenance teams.
The position also requires continuous improvement of existing automation solutions to enhance productivity, quality, and reliability.
Qualifications
- Robust skills in industrial robot programming (e.g., Fanuc, Yaskawa, ABB, Kawasaki, KUKA, Nachi) and experience with path planning, I/O configuration, and cycle time optimization.
- Experience with off-line simulation and robotic cell modeling using relevant software tools for validating layouts, reachability, and process flows.
- Knowledge of welding automation (spot and arc welding), including process parameters, fixture setups, and quality requirements in automotive or related industries.
- Exposure to machine tending applications, CNC integration, material handling, and safety interlocks in automated manufacturing environments.
- Understanding of industrial automation systems, PLCs, sensors, and basic electrical and mechanical concepts relevant to robotic integration.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation, and to create clear programming, commissioning, and maintenance documentation.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on process optimization.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional engineering, production, and quality teams on-site.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
