Aptean is looking for a proactive and skilled Development Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our product development, from understanding requirements and architectural design to coding, debugging, and deployment. We're seeking someone with a strong background in AI Agent development, robust coding practices, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and performant features within an Agile environment.

You'll also play a role in guiding junior team members and driving critical customer issues to resolution.

Scope

- Knowledge: Expertise in AI Agent development and deployment, C#.NET, SQL Server, AWS (S3, SQS, Lambda, DynamoDB), HTML, CSS, APIs, Sencha/Angular/React framework, Office Web Add-ins, and Web Application Architecture.
- Complexity: Expert level (8+ years of experience).
- Supervision: Yes (has to supervise team, specifically 2 full-line reports in R&D;).

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Demonstrate working knowledge of creating AI Agents from development through deployment.
- Take ownership of development activities and drive results towards end-to-end delivery.
- Exhibit excellent debugging and analytical skills, and guide the team in these areas.
- Possess knowledge of troubleshooting, performance, deployment, and debugging using analyzing tools.
- Closely work with Support Team and Tech Hub Team to resolve issues.
- Perform Performance and Security Testing.
- Own critical customer issues and drive them through to resolution.
- Write secure, reusable, efficient code with high standards, and enforce the same through code reviews.
- Work with the Product Owner, Product Manager, Architect, and other leads to review project/feature specifications.
- Collaborate with the Architect and other leads to architecturally design and deliver high quality, secure, and performant features.




- Participate in all phases of the lifecycle from understanding requirements through development and finally to any post-deployment maintenance activities.
- Work within an Agile team implementing features and guiding junior engineers.
- Take ownership of sprints, features, and implementations, hitting tight deadlines when needed and reporting on progress to managers.
- Utilize AI Models for development.
- Perform Web Development and testing of software applications and solutions.
- Liaise with Performance and Security Testing Teams.
- Write Stored Procedures and functions in SQL.
- Maintain a good grip on finetuning Application and SQL performance issues.
- Maintain ETL processes.
- Write and debug APIs using Postman or other tools.
- Build and assemble prototype assimilations of software applications and solutions as directed.
- Review code and maintain best practices on DevOps.
- Maintain SAST (Static Application Security Testing) and DAST (Agile Application Security Testing) standards.
- Deliver high-quality software applications and solutions that are extensible and scalable within the specified timeline.

Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor's degree (B.E./B.Tech.) (Required). Master's degree (Preferred).
- Work Experience: Expert level, typically requiring 8+ years of experience.

Skills and Abilities

- AI working knowledge is a must in developing AI Agents.
- Advanced level programming in C# .Net framework and .NET Core, WCF, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, APIs.
- Proficiency in DevOps, CI/CD, Terraform, etc.
- Proven experience designing and writing secure and performant applications.
- Experience writing technical and functional specifications for product features.
- Drive for innovation and learning.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate across cultures and a proven track record of mentoring juniors.
- Experience working in an Agile methodology.
- Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and interest in furthering understanding of designs and best practices for cloud services.
- Must have a strong grip in executing tasks and achieving results by working with the team.
