Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Design & Development Engineer to develop cutting-edge, functional, and cost-effective packaging solutions using AutoCAD as part of the New Product Development (NPD) process.

The role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to transform conceptual ideas into manufacturable packaging solutions, particularly for folding cartons, rigid boxes, and corrugated boxes.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop packaging KLDs using AutoCAD based on customer requirements.
- Create prototypes using sample-making machines and validate structure, size, and functionality.
- Modify existing packaging designs to optimize cost, material usage, and production feasibility.
- Prepare KLDs, 3D views, BOMs, and technical documentation for production handover.
- Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and QC teams and external vendors.
- Suggest cost-effective packaging designs and optimize material usage without compromising functionality or aesthetics.
- Contribute ideas for packaging innovation, sustainable alternatives, and patentable structures.
- Assist in product trials, transit tests,



and quality validation of newly developed packaging.

Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D design and rendering).
- Knowledge of paperboard, corrugated board, rigid board, and other packaging materials.
- Understanding of Adobe Illustrator / CorelDRAW for artwork alignment.
- Familiarity with sample-making machines and post-press operations.
- Strong understanding of structural packaging design and development.

Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma / B.Tech in Printing & Packaging / Mechanical Engineering / relevant discipline; Graduate candidates may also be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in structural packaging design using AutoCAD.
- Experience in folding cartons, rigid boxes, and corrugated boxes is preferred.
- Candidates with experience in the Printing & Packaging industry will be preferred.
