Job Title: Alteryx / Python Automation Developer

Shift: 2-11pm IST

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain automated data workflows using Alteryx Designer for ETL/ELT processes across multiple data sources
- Develop Python scripts to extend Alteryx capabilities (custom macros, API integrations, complex data transformations not natively supported)
- Automate recurring manual/reporting tasks — reduce cycle time for data pulls, reconciliations, and report generation
- Integrate Alteryx workflows with databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL), cloud storage (S3, Azure Blob), and APIs (REST/SOAP)
- Build and schedule workflows via Alteryx Server / Scheduler; monitor job runs and troubleshoot failures
- Write Python automation for tasks outside Alteryx's scope — file handling, web scraping, email automation, PDF/Excel processing (using libraries like pandas, openpyxl, requests, BeautifulSoup)




- Collaborate with business/functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into automated data pipelines
- Perform data validation, quality checks, and error-handling logic within workflows
- Document workflow logic, data lineage, and standard operating procedures
- Optimize existing workflows for performance (reduce runtime, memory usage)
- Support ad hoc data analysis and dashboarding needs (often feeding into Tableau/Power BI)
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security standards, especially for regulated data (relevant if this is for a pharma/life-sciences client)
- Provide production support and enhancements for existing automation suites

Typical Required Skills

- Alteryx Designer (Advanced/Server), Python (pandas, numpy, requests)
- SQL proficiency
- Understanding of ETL concepts and data warehousing
- API integration experience
