The Role
The Role:
You are the Power BI discipline Solution Architect responsible for safeguarding and migrating the client’s analytics estate through a tenant-to-tenant consolidation. This includes workspaces, reports, semantic models/datasets, gateways (where relevant), service principals, permissions and operational governance.
Power BI migrations fail when teams ignore identity, access and workspace governance.



Your role is to define the migration blueprint and factory execution patterns that preserve business-critical reporting while maintaining security and governance standards in the target tenant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define the target-state Power BI architecture and governance for the consolidated tenant: workspace strategy, admin controls, permissions model, deployment patterns, operational standards.
- Define tenant-to-tenant migration approach for Power BI artefacts: discovery, criticality classification, workspace mapping, move approach, validation, remediation.
- Establish runbooks for factory teams covering: workspace creation/config, permissions mapping, report/dataset migration patterns, dependency handling and post-move verification.
- Coordinate dependencies with Entra Apps/Identity: service principals, admin consent, API permissions, authentication methods used by datasets and refresh processes.
- Define validation gates and acceptance criteria: refresh success, dataset connectivity, row-level security behaviour, busines
