Role Summary
Fluence is seeking a highly capable Instrumentation & Control Engineer to support the design and development of advanced Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role requires strong experience in control systems design, instrumentation selection, industrial communication protocols, and safety‑related control architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with control hardware, networking fundamentals, and system‑level integration across power and communication interfaces.




You will collaborate closely with global engineering, product development, manufacturing, and field teams to deliver high‑quality, secure, and reliable energy storage solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. BESS Instrumentation & Control Engineering
- Support the development of control architecture and instrumentation strategy for utility‑scale and commercial BESS solutions.
- Work with systems, electrical, and firmware teams to design reliable and scalable control solutions.

2. Control Schematic Design
- Develop and review, Electrical control schematics, Wiring diagrams, I/O mapping documents, Control panel layouts and termination diagrams.
- Ensure designs comply with internal standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.

3. Component Selection & Sizing
- Select and size control and instrumentation components such as: Relays, safety relays, interlocks, I/O modules (AI/DI/AO/DO), Sensors (tempera
