Meet the Team
We are the Unified Communications (UC) Software Development team within Cisco Routing Business Unit under the Workplace Technology Group. Our team is responsible for a wide range of voice solutions, including Cisco flagship Voice Gateways (VG) for both Cloud Calling and On-Prem Calling, Digital Signal Processors (DSP) modules, as well as Analog and Digital Voice Modules operating on Catalyst 8200/8300 routing platforms. We also develop VoIP applications such as audio conferencing, transcoding, SWMTP, Fax, and Secure Modem for DoD and DoJ, and Secure Voice (TLS and sRTP).
Our mission is to develop and maintain a competitive and high-quality VG and VoIP products, support the transition from on-prem to cloud calling, and integrate key UC capabilities into Cisco SD-WAN.

Minimum Qualifications
- Masters combined with 6 years of related experience, or Bachelors combined with 8 years Networking or Telecom industry experience. Hands on experience on End-to-End Software development in areas of VoIP or Voice Gateway products.
- Strong Embedded C programming and debugging skills. Capable of handling large SW code base and independently resolving issues with speed and quality.
- Deep understanding about VoIP, DSP and codecs, voice signaling protocol, and voice media.
- Solid knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Understanding on use of packet capture including wire shark to debug VoIP signaling and voice media path in the network.
- Working experience to set up test beds, recreate issues and perform tests to debug failures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valuable knowledge of the analog interfaces such as FXS/FXO/E&M; or the digital interfaces such as T1/E1/ISDN PRI, T1CAS/E1R2, and BRI. RTP and RTCP
