Key Responsibilities

- Diagnostics: Perform comprehensive hearing and balance tests, including audiometry, tympanometry, and vestibular assessments.
- Treatment & Fitting: Select, fit, and program hearing aids, cochlear implants, and assistive listening devices based on patient needs.
- Rehabilitation: Develop and implement custom auditory training and communication strategies.
- Counseling: Guide patients and their families through the psychological adjustments of hearing loss and proper device usage.
- Patient Education: Advise patients on preventative measures, such as using ear protection to prevent noise-induced hearing loss. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Essential Skills & Qualifications

- Clinical Knowledge: Robust background in anatomy, acoustics, and communication disorders.
- Patient Empathy: High level of patience, compassion, and active listening to support patients facing hearing or balance challenges.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to work with advanced audiological software and diagnostic testing machinery.
- Education: Typically requires a master's or doctoral degree (AuD) in Audiology, alongside the necessary state or national licensing/certification
