Job Summary

The Assistant Manager – Dispatch will be responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day dispatch operations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers and distributors. The role involves shipment planning, documentation, inventory coordination, transporter management, team supervision, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and coordinate daily dispatch activities as per customer orders and delivery schedules.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and damage-free dispatch of finished goods.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Warehouse, Quality, Finance, and Logistics teams for smooth dispatch operations.
- Prepare and verify dispatch documents, invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills, packing lists, and other required documentation.
- Coordinate with transporters and logistics partners for vehicle placement and shipment movement.
- Monitor vehicle loading, route planning, dispatch schedules, and delivery status.
- Ensure proper packing, labeling, quantity verification, and loading of materials before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and update ERP/WMS systems regularly.
- Track pending orders, delayed shipments, shortages, damages, and customer delivery issues.
- Monitor freight costs and support cost-effective transportation planning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and safety procedures.




- Supervise and guide dispatch/warehouse staff and allocate daily work responsibilities.
- Conduct regular reconciliation of physical stock with system records and investigate discrepancies.
- Coordinate with transporters and customers regarding delivery schedules and resolve operational issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch reports and MIS.
- Identify process gaps and implement improvements to increase dispatch efficiency and reduce errors.
- Ensure proper housekeeping, 5S, and safety practices within the dispatch area.

Required Qualifications

- Graduate degree in any discipline; preferably B.Com/BBA/BE/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in dispatch, warehouse, logistics, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, automotive, engineering, or similar industry will be preferred.
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP/WMS systems.
- Positive knowledge of dispatch documentation and logistics processes.
- Strong MS Excel and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of e-way bills, GST-related documentation, and transportation processes is desirable.
