the scalability resilience and security of SAP S 4HANA environments Let Me Tell You About the Role As a Basis Platform Engineer you will be responsible for the day-to-day technical operations and optimisation of SAP ERP environments Your work will focus on ensuring platform stability performance and compliance across cloud and hybrid landscapes You will support the deployment configuration and lifecycle management of SAP systems BTP tenants including tenant provisioning transport management and connectivity setup You ll also contribute to automation efforts patching routines and monitoring activities to maintain high availability and operational efficiency This role requires solid hands-on experience with SAP Basis administration in cloud contexts familiarity with SAP BTP services and a working knowledge of platform security performance tuning and incident resolution You ll collaborate with architecture and delivery teams to implement best practices and support ongoing platform enhancements What You Will Deliver Operate and support SAP S 4HANA in RISE Public Private Cloud environments Perform Basis tasks monitoring transports user security admin job scheduling patching Administer SAP BTP tenant and cockpit services manage connections trust OAuth and deployments Troubleshoot apps support CI CD pipelines and DevOps automation Familiarity with BTP services Portal WebIDE Mobile HANA Security Integration Suite SAC etc Assist in defining cloud deployment architectures and platform strategies HA DR scalability nZDM Ensure platform security and compliance identity encryption authentication Support performance tuning HANA optimisation and infrastructure modernisation Collaborate with business and IT teams to align deployment models with operational needs Help manage service providers technical escalations and governance activities What You Will Need to Be Successful Experience and Qualifications Essential Holds a Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related discipline Over 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP platform architecture and Basis administration with a strong focus on cloud-based ERP deployments Proven track record as a SAP Basis Engineer including deployment and configuration of SAP Solution Manager in large-scale SuSE Linux environments Practical experience with tools such as CALM Full CHaRM Focused Run and the broader SAP toolchain Solid understanding of SAP S 4HANA architecture and deployment models including RISE with SAP Public and Private Cloud and hybrid landscapes Skilled in SAP security concepts including Identity and Access Management IAM role-based access control RBAC and audit compliance Strong knowledge of SAP HANA database architecture performance tuning and system optimisation Experience deploying SAP on hyperscalers like Azure AWS or GCP with familiarity in networking firewalling and cloud-native security practices Competent in designing and implementing high availability HA and disaster recovery DR strategies for SAP systems Hands-on experience with automation tools and Infrastructure-as-Code e g Terraform Ansible and applying DevOps principles to SAP CI CD pipelines Comfortable leading technical discussions with SAP cloud providers and enterprise infrastructure teams Familiar with SAP upgrade and migration methodologies lifecycle management and cloud transition frameworks Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences Working knowledge of up-to-date service delivery models including Site Reliability Engineering SRE and traditional ITIL practices High emotional intelligence EQ and the ability to navigate complex organisational environments and collaborate with senior stakeholders Experience working in large global ERP environments with distributed teams including third-party vendors in agile delivery settings Desired SAP Certifications in SAP S 4HANA BTP Architecture SAP Basis or SAP Cloud Deployment Experience with SAP BTP Business Technology Platform and advanced SAP integration strategies Knowledge of Zero Trust Security models for SAP environments
