Job Summary The OT Scrub Nurse is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room preparing surgical instruments and assisting the surgeon directly during procedures This role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency safety and success of surgeries within a hospital setting Key Responsibilities Pre-Operative Duties Prepare and check surgical instruments trays and equipment Ensure the OT is properly sterilized and arranged as per surgical protocols Perform surgical hand scrubbing and wear sterile attire Verify patient identity procedure and consent in coordination with the surgical team Intra-Operative Duties Assist surgeons by passing instruments sutures and supplies Maintain strict sterile techniques and monitor the sterile field Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team Keep count of instruments swabs and needles to prevent retention in the patient Ensure patient safety and monitor vital signs in collaboration with the anesthetist if required Post-Operative Duties Assist in applying dressings and transferring the patient to recovery Account for all instruments sponges and sharps after surgery Clean and prepare instruments for reprocessing Document procedure details and handover to post-operative care team Documentation Compliance Maintain accurate surgical records including instrument counts and procedural notes Report any incidents or irregularities to the OT In-charge Comply with hospital infection control and safety protocols Qualifications Education GNM B Sc Nursing Mandatory Licensure Registered Nurse State Nursing Council Experience Fresher with OT training may apply 1-3 years of OT surgical experience preferred Skills Competencies Strong knowledge of sterile techniques and surgical procedures Excellent communication and teamwork skills Precision alertness and ability to handle stress Good physical stamina long hours standing Knowledge of hospital safety and emergency procedures Working Conditions Rotational shifts including night duties and emergency OT on-call Working in high-stress and time-sensitive environments Exposure to bodily fluids and surgical risks with PPE Salary Range Experienced 18 000 - 25 000 month varies by hospital and location Job Type Full-time Pay 18 000 00 - 25 000 00 per month Perks Provident Fund Work Location In person
