Shift In Charge - HRM Operations Rolling Planning Location JSL Hisar Department Hot Rolling Mill HRM Position Shift In Charge - Steckel Mill OperationsJob Purpose To execute and plan the shift-wise production of the Steckel Mill ensuring targeted productivity quality output safe operations and minimal delays through effective coordination and adherence to SOPs Key ResponsibilitiesProduction ProductivityPlan and execute shift production activities to achieve daily targets and optimize mill productivity Monitor rolling parameters and process conditions to ensure smooth continuous operations Control delays and take prompt corrective actions to minimize downtime Quality AssuranceEnsure and sustain product quality as per set standards Identify quality deviations or defects and initiate immediate corrective actions in coordination with relevant teams Maintain records of quality checks and implement preventive measures Process ComplianceEnsure strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures SOPs across all operational activities Review and update SOP adherence to avoid process diversions Resource Manpower PlanningEnsure availability of raw materials slabs coils required for the shift Plan and allocate manpower effectively to maintain uninterrupted mill operations Coordinate with Planning Production Control PPC for material sequencing and schedules Safety Workplace ManagementEnsure all safety protocols are followed within the mill during the shift Verify PPE usage for entire workforce and cross-check work permits for all activities Promote a solid safety culture and participate in safety audits toolbox talks and incident reporting Coordination CommunicationCoordinate with maintenance teams mechanical electrical instrumentation to address breakdowns and preventive activities Liaise with PPC Quality Assurance Logistics and other external agencies to ensure seamless operations Provide accurate shift reports production data and delay analysis to management Qualifications ExperienceDiploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6-12 years of experience Hands-on experience in Hot Rolling operations preferably in Steckel Mill or similar rolling processes Key Skills Competencies Strong understanding of metal rolling and Steckel Mill operations Ability to plan execute and monitor shift operations efficiently Basic computer literacy MS Office SAP ERP preferred Good analytical and troubleshooting skills Effective communication and coordination abilities Strong sense of responsibility safety awareness and team leadership Job Snapshot Updated Date 29-11-2025 Job ID Job 2431 Department HRM Op Rolling Planning Location Hisar Haryana India Experience 4 - 6 Years
