About the role Tesco is looking for a commercial contracts lawyer who can support under guidance the Group Legal and UK Property teams by undertaking certain aspects of its UK-related non-contentious real estate work You will be responsible for Having undergone our internal induction and training programme covering key UK property legal skills your role will include Negotiating drafting and reviewing a broad range of non-contentious UK property contracts from the UK legal perspective including Leases Tenancy at Will License to Assign License for Alterations License to Occupy Rent Deposit Deed Deed of Variation Deed of surrender Non-disclosure Agreement Title due diligence and reporting Co-ordination with relevant stakeholders within the Tesco Property and Legal teams to ensure that real estate matters are delivered in a timely and appropriately risk-balanced manner meeting the business need Working collaboratively with our external law firms to share knowledge and best practice and ensure the efficient delivery of real estate legal services to the business Managing and updating Tesco templates and playbooks Downloading Land Registry documents and making Land Registry applications Ensuring compliance with Tesco Business Code of Conduct our Governance framework and other policies as applicable from time to time Represent Talent Acquisition in all forums seminars pertaining to process compliance and audit Perform other miscellaneous duties as required by management Driving CI culture implementing CI projects and innovation for withing the team You will need Qualified commercial contracts or real estate lawyer with at least 2 years of post qualification experience Experience of working in an International UK preferred but not essential workplace whether in a law firm or in-house legal team Documentation relates to properties in UK region so proficiency and knowledge in UK laws will be preferred Strong communication and negotiation skills Ability to work independently and cross functionally MS Office Excel Word and PowerPoint Extensive knowledge of contract law UK Property Law preferred but not essential including strong experience of drafting a variety of complex commercial contracts Ability to review and negotiate contracts and provide pragmatic and commercial advice Ability to work independently and autonomously cross functionally and to tight deadlines Good communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ability to identify and appropriately mitigate commercial contractual risk Whats in it for you At Tesco we are committed to providing the best for you As a result our colleagues enjoy a unique differentiated market- competitive reward package based on the current industry practices for all the work they put into serving our customers communities and planet a little better every day Our Tesco Rewards framework consists of pillars -
