JOB DESCRIPTION Join Chase s agile Connected Commerce team where we are revolutionizing the way offers are set up and distributed to web and mobile applications Our platform is designed to handle 10k-30k transactions per second ensuring seamless and efficient service to our customers As the Senior Vice President Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Connected Commerce team you will lead our backend development efforts focusing on designing and implementing Java-based systems to support high-volume transaction processing You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solution architecture with business goals utilize AI coding tools to enhance development efficiency and mentor junior engineers This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced innovative environment contributing to a platform that impacts millions of customers Job responsibilities Lead the design development and implementation of Java-based backend systems to support high-volume transaction processing Architect and optimize solutions using AWS services including AWS Postgres and AWS EC2 to ensure scalability reliability and performance Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement solution architecture that aligns with business goals and technical requirements Utilize AI coding tools such as Windsurf to enhance development efficiency and code quality Drive continuous improvement in software development practices ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards Mentor and guide junior engineers fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team Work closely with product managers and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions Ensure the security and compliance of the platform adhering to Community Banking s standards and regulatory requirements Required qualifications capabilities and skills Formal training or certification on Java concepts and 5 years applied experience Proven experience in Java backend development with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns Extensive experience with AWS services particularly AWS Aurora Postgres AWS ECS Fargate and AWS Glue w Airflow Demonstrated ability to architect and implement scalable high-performance solutions Experience with AI coding tools such as Windsurf Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills Be part of a forward-thinking team that is shaping the future of Connected Commerce Work in a fast-paced innovative environment with opportunities for professional growth and development Experience in the financial services industry particularly in connected commerce is a plus Contribute to a platform that impacts millions of customers and processes thousands of transactions per second Enjoy a competitive salary and benefits package along with the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies ABOUT US
