We are looking for a highly skilled and independent Senior Content Developer to create and manage user documentation for our internal software. This role involves transitioning our existing PDF documentation into a modern, interactive help center using tools like MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal-facing technical documentation, such as user guides and training materials, for software developers, administrators, and configurators.
- Transform existing PDF documentation into an interactive, user-friendly help center using XML authoring tools.
- Collaborate with SMEs and project managers to ensure the accuracy and quality of documentation.
- Proactively acquire in-depth knowledge of our software and processes.
- Manage an online repository of documentation, ensuring timely updates and adherence to deadlines.
- Continuously enhance documentation quality by suggesting improvements to the style guide, templates, and processes.
- Participate in project planning,
scheduling, and progress tracking.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in English, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).
- 3.5 to 6.5 years of experience in technical writing and user documentation for software products.
- Proficiency in XML-based authoring tools like MadCap Flare or Adobe RoboHelp is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience with API documentation and creating training materials is an advantage.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with web-based software development or platform development.
- Work samples showcasing user documentation, preferably for technical software.
