Purpose/Objective

Head - CT Operations is responsible for overseeing the overall container terminal operations, ensuring high levels of productivity, efficiency, and safety in accordance with company policies, operational benchmarks, and customer expectations.
This role requires strategic leadership (including sucession planning) to enhance terminal operations, manage vendor partnerships, control costs, and optimize performance across vessel, yard, gate, and rail operations.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Operational Excellence: Lead and manage the end-to-end operations of the container terminal, including vessel, yard, gate, and rail operations.
Budget Planning and Oversight: Develop and finalize the annual budget for both operational expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) for terminal operations, ensuring it aligns with the port's strategic objectives.
Exercise diligent management of operating costs to maintain expenditures within the approved financial framework.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety of workmen, terminal assets, and cargo by strictly adhering to safety protocols and industry best practices.
Manpower Planning: Oversee manpower deployment, ensuring optimal staffing levels for efficient terminal operations.
Project Management: Oversee project execution related to terminal infrastructure and ensure project perks are realized as per the approved plan.
Performance Management: Regularly monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Vendor Management: Monitor, guide, and ensure optimal performance of O&M; (Operations & Maintenance)



vendors as per APSEZ policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Engagement: Align terminal services with customer expectations based on insights from the Business Development team.
For JV terminals, ensure compliance with all requirements within set timelines and prepare and present the Safety and Operational performance to the Board.
Brand Positioning: Ensure Adani's brand values are shown in all interactions.
Strengthen relationships to boost the organization's brand and trust within the market and company.
Team Development: Build a high-performing team.
Set clear KPIs, track progress, and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.
Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital business success Digital mindset: Champions a digital mindset within the organization to drive innovation and competitiveness.
Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
Key Stakeholders - Internal: CEO/COO Cross - functional teams, Direct reportees Cross Functional Teams Key Stakeholders - External: Prospective clients, Government and regulatory bodies, Vendors and JV partners as required

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: BSc, PGDCA Work Experience: 15-20 years of experience in relevant field
