Role & responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Physiotherapy Department, ensuring efficient day-to-day clinical and administrative operations.
- Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.
- Supervise physiotherapists, interns, students, and support staff to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Provide advanced physiotherapy management for orthopaedic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary, sports, and post-operative conditions.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans according to clinical outcomes.
- Coordinate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary patient management.
- Manage acute and chronic pain, mobility limitations, functional disabilities, and rehabilitation needs.
- Ensure appropriate use of manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, electrotherapy, gait training, and rehabilitation techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment documentation, assessment reports, and discharge summaries.
- Develop departmental protocols, clinical guidelines, and standard operating procedures.




- Conduct regular clinical audits and implement quality-improvement initiatives.
- Organize duty schedules, workload allocation, staff meetings, and departmental activities.
- Mentor and train junior physiotherapists, interns, and postgraduate students.
- Conduct lectures, practical demonstrations, clinical teaching, and case discussions.
- Support research activities, evidence-based practice, seminars, workshops, and academic programs.
- Evaluate staff performance and identify training and career development needs.
- Ensure compliance with infection-control procedures, patient-safety standards, and institutional policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients and relatives regarding treatment plans, rehabilitation goals, and expected outcomes.
- Handle departmental coordination, equipment requirements, inventory, and maintenance of physiotherapy facilities.
- Participate in hospital committees, multidisciplinary meetings, and institutional development activities.
- Promote ethical, patient-centered, and evidence-based physiotherapy practice.
