About the Role

We are expanding our Digital Workplace and End User Computing (EUC) practice and hiring a Senior Hybrid Desktop Infrastructure Architect & Engineer for a permanent technical leadership position. In this role, you will define our standard reference architecture for contemporary, Zero-Trust-native hybrid desktop delivery and lead its design, engineering, and rollout across enterprise environments.

You will own our migration path off legacy VDI platforms (Omnissa Horizon / Citrix) toward a target architecture powered by Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365 Cloud PC, and Intune-managed endpoints.

Key Responsibilities

- Hybrid Desktop Architecture: Define enterprise HLDs, LLDs, technical standards, and Azure landing zone designs supporting both AVD/Cloud PC and Zero-Trust-managed endpoints.
- Legacy VDI Migration: Develop and execute phased migration strategies moving workloads off legacy Omnissa Horizon and Citrix estates to the target hybrid state.
- AVD & Cloud PC Engineering: Design, deploy, administer, and optimize AVD host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, and Windows 365 Cloud PCs.
- Managed Desktop & Zero Trust: Operate the Intune-managed desktop platform (Autopilot, Entra ID join, compliance policies). Implement Defender for Endpoint, Conditional Access, Windows LAPS, BitLocker, and DLP controls.
- Identity & Cloud Infrastructure: Architect unified identity governance across Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory. Manage underlying Azure virtual networks, NSGs, ExpressRoute, and storage infrastructure.




- Profiles & Automation: Implement FSLogix profile management, OneDrive KFM, and app packaging (MSIX App Attach). Automate provisioning and configuration using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and IaC (Bicep / ARM / Terraform).
- Monitoring & DR: Track DEX metrics using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Intune Endpoint Analytics. Maintain multi-region host pool failover and Autopilot re-provisioning runbooks.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

- Experience: 712 years in IT Infrastructure / EUC, including 5+ years architecting enterprise desktop solutions at scale (1,000+ endpoints).
- Virtual Desktop / DaaS: Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Windows 365 Cloud PC, and experience migrating from Omnissa Horizon or Citrix DaaS.
- Modern Endpoint Management: Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, Windows Update for Business, Windows LAPS.
- Identity & Zero Trust: Microsoft Entra ID, Hybrid Join, Conditional Access, MFA, Defender for Endpoint.
- Cloud & Automation: Azure networking/compute, PowerShell, Azure CLI, Bicep, ARM, or Terraform.
- Profiles & Apps: FSLogix, MSIX App Attach, and app packaging.

Preferred Certifications

- Primary: Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ-140) OR Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).
- Secondary: AZ-104, AZ-305, SC-300, or SC-900.
- Legacy platform credentials (Citrix / VMware) are a plus for migration planning.
