The Senior RF Radar Engineer will lead the technical design and verification of radio frequency (RF) radar systems for spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite sensors. This role involves system architecture development, hardware design, RF circuit analysis, antenna and payload integration, performance modelling, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and optimise advanced RF radar systems and subsystems for SAR satellite payloads (with emphasis on X-band or higher frequencies).
- Perform system-level architecture planning, specification definition, and link budget analysis for SAR payload
- Lead antenna design, simulation, and integration for phased array systems, considering beamforming, polarization, and pointing requirements.
- Develop and validate radar signal processing algorithms for SAR imaging, calibration, and image quality assurance
- Conduct hardware and software integration, system testing, troubleshooting, and verification of all radar-related electronics.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory RF emissions, spectrum allocation, and electromagnetic compatibility standards.
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure payload performance and system interoperability.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and contribute to test plans and reviews for satellite missions.
- Support technology transfer (ToT), vendor assessment, and liaison with external research or industrial partners.
- Support the clean room operations for sensor integration

Required Qualification
- Masters or PhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering,

Physics, or related field; substantial experience in RF or radar system design (minimum 5 years preferred).
- Demonstrated expertise with SAR, radar imaging, and RF payloads (preferably in satellite or aerospace context).
- Hands-on experience with RF simulation tools, modeling software (such as Dassault CST, Ansys HFSS, Keysight pathwave ADS, COMSOL Multiphysics, etc), and signal processing platforms.
- Solid grounding in analog and digital RF circuit design, antenna engineering, and phased array technologies.
- Proficiency with system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and calibration of radar payload hardware/software including Digital, RF and transmitter modules.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and documentation (ITU, EMC, MIL-STD, etc.).
- Strong written and verbal communication; adept at technical reporting and collaboration.

Desired Skills
- Experience with interferometric SAR (InSAR) and advanced radar processing algorithms.
- Familiarity with embedded processing, FPGA/DSP platforms, and satellite bus integration.
- Project management or team leadership in an engineering/space systems context.
- Industry certifications in RF engineering or satellite communications (e.g., ISTQB, IAM, etc.).
- Experience with technology transfer, external collaboration, and vendor liaison processes.
