About the Engagement: Futops Technologies is supporting its client's initiative to modernise their SDLC and software production workplace for industrial control and monitoring solutions (DCS and PA business lines).

This role is part of a 3-member team deployment and focuses on RHEL-based infrastructure, OS engineering, and OEM delivery readiness. Role Overview: The RHEL Consultant will be responsible for Linux administration, OS build and packaging, and onpremise RHEL environment management to support ABB's industrial software stack. The candidate will work closely with OpenShift/MicroShift engineers and contribute to robust, production-grade OEM delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities: Administer and maintain RHEL on-premise environments including installation, configuration, patching, and hardening Perform pre-configuration and packaging of RHEL systems for OEM product delivery pipelines

Build and manage OS images and ISO artefacts using ostree and bootc workflows Configure and manage storage LVM, NFS, iSCSI, and block storage as required Handle networking setup including interface bonding, VLANs, firewall rules,



and DNS/DHCP configurations Collaborate with MicroShift and OpenShift engineers on node-level OS readiness for containerised workloads Develop and maintain shell/Ansible automation scripts for OS provisioning and configuration management

Required Skills:

Strong hands-on experience with RHEL administration (RHEL 8/9 preferred) Proficiency in Linux system administration processes, services, networking, storage, security Experience with OS and ISO build processes using ostree and/or bootc Working knowledge of storage management LVM, RAID, NFS, and block storage Understanding of network configuration bonding, bridging, routing, firewalld, SELinux Familiarity with RPM packaging and software distribution for OEM environments Scripting skills — Bash and/or Python for automation Basic understanding of containerisation concepts (supportive to OpenShift/MicroShift team) Knowledge of Ansible for configuration management is a plus. Podman, Docker, BootC, Image mode of RHEL, Kubernetes
