Role & responsibilities

- Lead the development of innovative protein supplements and food supplements based on market trends, consumer insights, and business requirements.
- Formulate, optimize, and improve new and existing products to achieve desired quality, taste, functionality, and cost targets.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through raw material rationalization and process improvements.
- Plan, execute, and monitor laboratory, pilot-scale, and commercial production trials.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams and contract processors to ensure successful product scale-up and commercialization.
- Collaborate with raw material suppliers for ingredient sourcing, evaluation, and development of new functional ingredients.
- Ensure all products comply with FSSAI regulations and relevant food category standards.
- Lead Current Product Development (NPD), product commercialization, and continuous process improvement projects.
- Conduct product evaluations, stability studies, and shelf-life assessments to ensure product quality and performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of product formulations, trial reports, specifications, SOPs,



and technical records.
- Work cross-functionally with Quality Assurance, Production, Procurement, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing teams to ensure timely project execution.
- Stay updated with emerging food technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes to support innovation and business growth.

Preferred candidate profile

- M. Tech or M.Sc. in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related discipline.
- 35 years of relevant experience in food product development, preferably in protein supplements and food supplements.
- Strong understanding of food ingredients, additives, flavoring, and seasoning systems.
- Good knowledge of food manufacturing processes, processing equipment, and production machinery.
- Understanding of shelf-life studies, packaging compatibility, and product stability.
- Sound knowledge of FSSAI regulations and other applicable food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
