Job Description: A Sponge Iron Division Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating the work of a crew to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of equipment in a sponge iron plant. Key duties include planning and executing maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, training staff, managing resources like labor and materials, and maintaining equipment such as rotary kilns, belt conveyors, and fly-ash handling systems. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Responsibilities

- Supervision and planning: Supervise the daily activities of the crew, plan the sequence of operations, and ensure all necessary labor, materials, and information are ready.
- Maintenance: Oversee preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance on key plant equipment, including belt conveyors, rotary kilns, coolers, and fly-ash handling systems.
- Safety and compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure a safe working workplace for all crew members.
- Training and mentoring: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to crew members, acting as a mentor and resource for the team.
- Problem-solving:



Address and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring work progresses smoothly and efficiently.
- Quality control: Maintain quality standards and ensure work is completed according to specifications.
- Resource management: Manage shift manpower and materials effectively.

Qualifications
- Experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical maintenance, and preventive maintenance techniques.
- Proficiency in a heavy industry or steel plant environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Experience with specific plant equipment like rotary kilns and belt conveyors is often required.
- Educational qualifications such as an ITI certification are often preferred, depending on the specific role.
