Valuations Specialist, AS Position Overview Job Title- Illiquid Asset Operations: Valuation Governance Location - Bangalore, India Role Description The candidate will be part of the Illiquid Asset Operations team and will contribute to the valuation governance function for alternative funds across diverse illiquid asset classes. The role will support periodic review of valuation reports, assessment and remediation of significant valuation exceptions, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure completeness, accuracy, andtimelyavailability of supporting valuation documentation. The candidate will also contribute to the preparation and coordination of Valuation Committee materials, minute-taking, follow-up actions, escalation tracking, and governance record maintenance.
The role includes supporting initial and periodic due diligence of valuation service providers,engagementand ongoing oversight processes, and onboarding or documentation of new or enhanced valuation models. In addition, the role will help deliver robust management reporting, support incident and findings tracking, and drive continuous process improvements in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Your key responsibilities - Assistin the periodic review of valuation reports for alternative and illiquid asset classes.
- Review significantvaluationexceptions and liaise with internal and external stakeholders to supporttimelyremediation.
- Coordinate with Portfolio Management, Fund CFO teams, Risk, and other stakeholders to collect relevant valuation documentation and supporting evidence.
- Prepare andconsolidatematerials for Valuation Committee meetings, including minute-taking, follow-up action tracking, escalation monitoring, and governance records.
- Support the IAO Valuation Governance team withinitialand periodic due diligence reviews of valuation service providers.
- Support engagement processes and ongoing oversight of valuation service providers, includingtracking offindings, incidents, and required actions.
- Assistin onboarding, validation, and documentation of new or updated valuation models and methodologies.
- Prepare management reporting for oversight activities, incidents, findings, risks, and potential process improvements.
- Maintain documentation and records, coordinate internal reviews, and help ensuretimelysign-offsandappropriate audittrail.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives acrossvaluationgovernance, controls, reporting, and stakeholder coordination. Your skills and experience - Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field preferred relevant professional qualifications or progress toward qualification are an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in audit, alternatives, valuation oversight, fund governance, or fund administration.
- Exposure to alternative valuation principles, valuation methodologies, and illiquid asset classes is preferred.
- Positive understanding of alternative fund strategies, fund governance, andvaluationdocumentation requirements.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, efficient time management, and a deadline-driven mindset.
- Self-motivated and team-oriented,
with the ability to coordinate effectively across internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the areas of alternative valuation, model governance, fund governance, and service provider oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
