About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to join our engineering team working on live sports technology platforms.

The role involves designing, developing, and supporting highly reliable, distributed systems that process real-time sports data during live events. You will work across backend services, cloud infrastructure, messaging systems, data pipelines, and AI-enabled capabilities.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will be expected to design solutions, write code, review architecture, mentor developers, troubleshoot production issues, and drive technical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and development of scalable .NET Core backend services and APIs.
- Build and maintain real-time event/data processing pipelines for live sports systems.
- Work with Kafka and distributed messaging/event-driven architectures.
- Develop automation, data-processing and AI/analytics components using Python.
- Design, deploy and manage cloud-based solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues across APIs, databases, messaging, cloud infrastructure and distributed services.
- Analyse system behaviour and identify root causes of failures in live event environments.
- Design systems for high availability, reliability, observability and fault tolerance.
- Work with Redis, databases, background jobs, APIs and other components within the OVR ecosystem.
- Participate in architecture discussions, technical design and code reviews.
- Mentor developers and establish good engineering and coding practices.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product and event operations teams.
- Continuously identify opportunities for automation, monitoring and AI-assisted operational intelligence.

Required Technical Skills
- Strong experience in C# / .NET Core / ASP.NET Core Web API
- Strong understanding of Python
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka




- Good experience with Azure and/or AWS
- Robust knowledge of REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with Redis and relational databases
- Good understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecture
- Experience with background processing, scheduled jobs and asynchronous programming
- Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices
- Experience with application monitoring, logging and troubleshooting
- Strong understanding of software design principles and clean architecture

Good to Have
- Experience working with sports technology or event-management systems
- Experience with real-time systems and high-volume data processing
- Experience with AI/ML, LLMs or AI-powered automation
- Experience with Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Hubs, AKS or equivalent AWS services
- Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
- Experience with SignalR or other real-time communication technologies
- Experience designing systems with high availability and disaster recovery
- Experience working with multiple systems integrated through APIs and messaging platforms
