Person having worked in similar field only required A Loading/Unloading Supervisor in a steel trading company is responsible for managing the daily, safe, and productive movement of steel products (such as TMT bars, angles, channels, coils, and billets) into and out of the warehouse or onto transport vehicles (trucks, railway wagons). They lead manual loading teams, verify quantities, maintain safety compliance, and ensure proper documentation to prevent transit damage.

Key Responsibilities

- Operation Supervision: Oversee all inbound/outbound loading and unloading, including direct supervision of workers to ensure efficiency.

- Safety Compliance: Enforce strict health, safety, and security standards, ensuring workers wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operate tools (forklifts, cranes) safely to prevent accidents.

- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare, verify, and maintain essential paperwork, including Loading Reports, Delivery Challans, Bill of Ladings, and Weighbridge Records.

- Inventory Control: Verify physical inventory against paperwork, inspect goods for damage, and report discrepancies.

- Workflow Management: Coordinate logistics with transport teams, assign tasks to workers,



and optimize the stacking pattern of materials to maximize space and prevent damage in transit.

- Material Identification: Ensure proper loading based on specific grade, size, and type of steel products (e.g., separating billets from TMT bars).

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Experience: Previous experience (typically 2–5 years) in warehouse, logistics, or loading operations, ideally within the steel industry.

- Leadership: Strong team management abilities to guide workers and labourers in a fast-paced environment.

- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with heavy material handling, proper stacking techniques, and safety protocols.

- Communication: Effective interpersonal skills to coordinate with truck drivers, dispatchers, and warehouse staff.

- Physical Requirements: Ability to work on-site, frequently standing, bending, and overseeing loading in industrial conditions.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
