The Echo Technician is responsible for performing echocardiographic examinations to obtain high-quality images and measurements of the heart. The technician prepares patients, operates echocardiography equipment, maintains accurate records, and assists the cardiologist in diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Perform 2D Echo, M-Mode, Color Doppler, and Spectral Doppler examinations.
Prepare patients and explain the procedure clearly before the examination.
Obtain appropriate cardiac views and accurate measurements according to departmental protocols.
Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment safely and efficiently.
Assist cardiologists during TTE, TEE, stress echocardiography, and other cardiac procedures as required.
Ensure correct patient identification and maintain complete examination records.
Document technical findings and measurements accurately for review by the cardiologist.
Recognize technically inadequate images and repeat views when necessary.
Immediately inform the cardiologist of significant or urgent observations according to hospital protocol.
Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
Follow infection-control,



patient-safety, and hospital policies.
Clean and disinfect equipment and examination areas after procedures.
Maintain proper storage and management of patient reports and images.
Participate in quality-control activities and departmental training.

Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Cardiac Care Technology, Medical Imaging Technology, Echocardiography, or a related field.
Relevant clinical training in echocardiography.
Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and basic echocardiographic principles.
Experience with echocardiography equipment is preferred.
