Duties & Responsibilities :
Collect blood, urine, and other specimens from patients.
Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper handling and storage .
Perform routine and specialized tests, including blood tests, urinalysis, and microbiological cultures.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as microscopes, centrifuges, and analysers.
Analyse test results and ensure accuracy.
Record and report findings to physicians and other healthcare specialists.
Maintain and update patient records and laboratory logs.
Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure test reliability and accuracy.
Participate in laboratory accreditation and proficiency testing programs.
Perform routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory instruments.
Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.
Adhere to health and safety regulations, including infection control protocols.
Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide diagnostic support.
Communicate effectively with patients and staff regarding specimen collection and testing procedures.
