Key Responsibilities
Final Inspection of Components & Valves
Perform final dimensional and visual inspection of:
Valve body, bonnet, disc, stem, trim parts
Verify compliance with:
Drawings (GAD / manufacturing drawings)
Bill of Materials (BOM)
Customer specifications
Assembly & Functional Verification
Inspect fully assembled valves for:
Alignment and fitment
Torque requirements
Smooth operation (open/close)
Ensure correct assembly of internal components
Dimensional & Measurement Checks
Use precision instruments:
Vernier caliper, micrometer
Bore gauge, height gauge
Thread gauges, plug gauges
Check:
Critical dimensions
Tolerances
Surface finish
Pressure & Leak Testing
Conduct and verify:
Hydrostatic pressure test
Pneumatic test
Seat leakage test
Ensure compliance with standards like:
ISO
Documentation & Certification
Prepare and verify:
Final inspection reports
Test certificates (TC)
Material traceability records
Ensure all documents are ready for:
Customer inspection
Third Party Inspection (TPI)
Non-Conformance Handling
Identify defects and deviations
Raise:
NCR (Non-Conformance Report)
Coordinate with production for rework or rejection
Verify corrective actions
Customer & TPI Coordination
Support inspections by:
Customers
Third-party agencies (e.g., inspection bodies)
Demonstrate tests and provide documentation
Required Skills
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of:
Valve types (gate, globe, ball, butterfly)
Engineering drawings & GD&T;
Familiarity with:
ISO quality systems
Hands-on experience with inspection tools
Soft Skills
Attention to detail
Solid reporting & documentation skills
Communication with cross-functional teams
Problem-solving ability
Qualifications
Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering
2–6 years experience in:
Valve manufacturing / machine shop QC
Certification in NDT (optional but preferred)
Work Setting
Machine shop / assembly / testing area
Exposure to pressure testing setups
Shift-based work possible
