Financial Index Analyst
Roles and Responsibilities
Role Overview
Configure global equity and fixed-income index models within a proprietary platform. You will interpret complex index methodology rulebooks and replicate index calculation logic using pre-defined system operations.
Key Responsibilities
Deconstruct methodologies: Analyze formal index rulebooks (e.g., market-cap weighting, float adjustment, capping rules).
Import constituent data: Use the internal platform UI to import datasets.
Replicate index logic: Sequence pre-defined functions of the UI (e.g., aggregations, multipliers, weights) to model rebalancing logics.
Apply financial judgment: Resolve corporate action ambiguities (e.g., mergers, stock splits) using existing logic documents.
Required Skillset
Financial acumen: Robust understanding of equity indices, corporate actions, and rebalancing concepts.
Methodology interpretation: Ability to translate complex, text-heavy financial rulebooks into structured logic.
System aptitude: Quick learner of proprietary configuration UIs and analytical workflows.
Precision mindset: Attention to detail to avoid tracking errors or calculation mismatches.
