Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Plastic Injection Mould Maker with 7–10 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting of plastic injection moulds.

The candidate should be capable of independently handling mould-related activities from mould assembly and fitting to mould trials, corrections, maintenance, and final production handover. Experience in automotive plastic components will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- * Manufacture, assemble, fit, modify, repair, and maintain plastic injection moulds.
- * Handle complete mould-making activities as per 2D/3D drawings and specifications.
- * Read and understand mould drawings, component drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and GD&T;.
- * Perform mould fitting, bench work, grinding, drilling, tapping, polishing, and assembly.
- * Handle mould components such as core, cavity, inserts, slides, lifters, ejector system, guide pillars, bushes, and cooling systems.
- * Conduct mould trials and identify defects related to mould design, fitting, alignment, cooling, ejection, and part quality.
- * Carry out mould corrections and modifications based on trial results and production requirements.
- * Troubleshoot moulding defects such as short filling, flash, sink marks, warpage, weld lines, burn marks, dimensional variation, and ejection problems.




- * Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of injection moulds.
- * Maintain mould history, maintenance records, modification records, and tool-life records.
- * Coordinate with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for mould-related issues.
- * Ensure proper mould cleaning, lubrication, storage, and preservation after production.
- * Support new mould development, mould trials, and product development activities.
- * Reduce mould downtime and improve mould life, performance, and reliability.
- * Guide junior mould makers and tool room technicians whenever required.
- * Ensure all mould-making and maintenance activities are carried out safely and accurately.

Technical Skills Required

- Solid hands-on knowledge of Plastic Injection Mould Making and Mould Maintenance.
- Good knowledge of 2-plate, 3-plate, hot runner, insert moulds, and automotive plastic moulds.
- Knowledge of core/cavity fitting, slider, lifter, ejector, cooling, and runner systems.
- Good understanding of mould steels, heat treatment, surface treatment, and standard mould components.
- Hands-on experience with milling, grinding, drilling, EDM, wire-cut, lathe, and other Tool Room machines.




- Knowledge of mould polishing and surface finishing.
- Ability to identify and rectify mould-related quality and dimensional problems.
- Good knowledge of measuring instruments such as Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Gauge, Bore Gauge, etc.
- Ability to work accurately within tight tolerances.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Qualification

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making, Mould Making, Fitter, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.**

Preferred Candidate A technically strong, hands-on Senior Mould Maker with 7–10 years of experience who can independently handle plastic injection mould assembly, fitting, trial, modification, maintenance, troubleshooting, and mould improvement, preferably with experience in automotive plastic components manufacturing.
