Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, or Supply Chain Management.

- Certification in Inventory/Warehouse Management, Lean Six Sigma, or Quality/Audit certification (NABH/JCI) is an added advantage.

Skilled Experience

8–12+ years of progressive experience in inventory / materials management roles, including substantial exposure to multi-location or group hospital operations — spanning stock control, warehouse operations, and inventory audit compliance.

Main Objective of the Role To design, implement, and control a centralized inventory management framework across the hospital group — ensuring optimum stock availability, minimal wastage, and disciplined inventory governance across all units.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Centralized Inventory Planning & Control

- Design and implement a centralized inventory management framework and stocking norms across all hospital units.
- Define and monitor min-max/re-order levels, safety stock, and consumption trends to prevent stock-outs and overstocking.
- Standardize SKUs, item masters, and inventory classification (ABC/VED/FSN analysis) across all hospitals.

2. Stock Monitoring & Replenishment

- Track inventory turnover, carrying cost, and working capital tied up in stock across the group.
- Monitor daily/weekly stock positions and trigger timely replenishment through the procurement team.
- Oversee inter-unit stock transfers to balance inventory across sites and minimize excess/shortfall.
- Conduct periodic cost and consumption analysis across units to identify usage trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for consumption rationalization.

- Perform cost analysis of inventory consumption mapped to surgical procedures and clinical services, enabling procedure-wise costing and cost-control insights for stakeholders.

3. Expiry, Ageing & Write-Off Control

- Monitor expiry alerts and near-expiry stock, and drive timely liquidation/return to minimize wastage.
- Own inventory ageing analysis and write-off control, ensuring adherence to defined policy thresholds.
- Lead periodic physical stock verification and cycle counts across units; investigate and resolve discrepancies.

4. Systems, MIS & Process Control

- Drive ERP/HMIS-based inventory controls and system accuracy to eliminate manual gaps and strengthen traceability.
- Establish and enforce SOPs for stock storage, handling, and disposal group-wide.
- Present group-wide inventory MIS, ageing, and stock-out reports to senior leadership.

5. Audit & Compliance

- Ensure inventory processes meet statutory, regulatory, and accreditation standards (NABH/JCI, biomedical waste, drug licensing).
- Lead internal inventory audits across units and drive closure of audit observations within defined timelines.
- Monitor product recalls and quality/incident reports related to inventory, ensuring timely CAPA.

6. People Management

- Lead and mentor regional store and warehouse teams across the group.
- Define KRAs, conduct performance appraisals, and drive training on inventory best practices across units.

SUPPLEMENTARY POSITION GUIDELINES

Key Performance Indicators

- Stock-out rate across hospital units (target <2%)
- Inventory turnover ratio and carrying cost
- Inventory ageing / expiry write-off as % of stock value
- Physical stock accuracy (variance %) at cycle counts
- Audit compliance score and observation closure TAT
- Team attrition rate and training coverage

Please Note:

This is only a general guideline and will change depending on organizational requirements.
