Responsibilities

Machine SetupSet up HMC/VMC machines as per production requirements.

- Mount and align fixtures, components, tools, and workholding devices.
- Ensure proper job clamping and component positioning.

Tool Setting & OffsetLoad and set cutting tools as per the tool list.

- Set tool length, diameter, wear and work offsets.
- Check tool condition and replace worn/damaged tools.

Program HandlingLoad the correct CNC program and verify program number/revision.

- Make minor offset corrections based on inspection results.
- Coordinate with the CNC programmer for program-related issues.

First Piece Inspection Produce the first-off component after setup.

- Check critical dimensions using vernier, micrometer, bore gauge, height gauge, etc.
- Get first-piece approval from Quality before starting batch production.

Production MonitoringOperate and monitor HMC/VMC machines during production.

- Maintain required cycle time and production targets.
- Monitor tool wear, coolant condition, machine alarms and machining parameters.





Quality Control Ensure components are produced as per drawing and control plan.

- Identify dimensional and machining defects.
- Segregate and report rejected/non-conforming components.

Machine & Tool Maintenance Perform basic daily machine checks and cleaning.

- Ensure proper coolant, lubrication and chip removal.
- Report machine abnormalities, breakdowns and tool-related issues to Maintenance.

Documentation Maintain setup sheets, tool records, production reports and inspection records.

- Record tool changes and offset corrections.
- Follow traceability and production documentation requirements.

Safety & 5S Follow all machine safety procedures and PPE requirements.

- Maintain 5S around the machine and work area.
- Ensure protected handling of tools, fixtures and components

Shift Handover

- Properly communicate machine status, tool condition, pending jobs, quality issues and production status to the next shift.
