Karikku is a growing beverage and food brand focused on bringing natural, refreshing and high-quality products to consumers in India and international markets. We are looking for a passionate Food Scientist to join our team and contribute to the development, improvement and commercialization of creative food and beverage products.

Job Summary

The Food Scientist will be responsible for researching, developing, testing and improving food and beverage products, with a strong focus on quality, safety, shelf life, sensory performance, cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of food science and technology, practical experience in product development, and an interest in working with natural ingredients, coconut-based products and beverages.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Development

* Develop new food and beverage products from concept to commercial production.
* Conduct laboratory trials and prepare product prototypes.
* Optimize formulations for taste, texture, stability, nutrition and cost.




* Explore new ingredients, processing technologies and product formats.
* Work closely with the production team to successfully scale products from lab trials to commercial manufacturing.

2. Product Improvement

* Evaluate existing Karikku products and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Conduct shelf-life and stability studies.
* Investigate issues related to taste, colour, texture, separation, sedimentation, oxidation and other product-quality concerns.
* Recommend suitable ingredients, processing conditions and packaging solutions.

3. Quality & Food Safety

* Ensure product development activities comply with applicable food safety and quality standards.
* Work closely with the Quality Assurance and Production teams.
* Establish and monitor product specifications and quality parameters.
* Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for product-quality issues.
